80VOLTS is a committee of family and friends of the students in the Liberty High School Choral Program.  Our primary focus is to raise the funds necessary to keep the Choral Department functioning at its best possible level.  Additional expenses include performance attire, music, and festival, busing, and touring fees.  Prior to the forming of 80VOLTs, the students relied on providing car washes for their funding mechanism.

Originally, 80VOLTS was formed in October 2002 to raise funds for the choir to perform in Washington, DC.

A Cappella Choir               Chamber Singers

It all began with this invitation to represent California in the

National Festival of the States in Washington, D.C.

So, we formed a fundraising committee and we were

off and running.......

The A Cappella Choir and Chamber Singers were selected to represent the State of California in the "Festival of the States".

80VOLTS raised over $90,000 to send the choirs on tour June 11-15, 2003.

During the 2003-2004 school year, 80VOLTS took over the expense of the choir accompanist, Eric Hunter, from the Choir Club (student organization).  Eric is an invaluable member of the Choral Program at Liberty, and we want to ensure he remains a part of us for many years.

Our goal for 2004-2005 was to raise funds to send the A Cappella Choir to New York City, as well as other expenses of the choral program.

In the year 2005-2006 we focused on local performances and fund-raising on a community level.

Our Goal for 2006-2007 is to raise the funds necessary ($225,000) to send our Singers to Britain to represent California in the Celebration of American Music!!

In the Year 2007-2008 we are staying home while we continue to earn money for our annual expenses,

and give our dedicated sponsors a year off as we prepare for a great trip in the Year 2008-2009.
